Riederau
On the west shore of Lake Ammersee
Riederau lies on the west shore of Lake Ammersee, between Dießen and Utting. From the jetty you look across to Andechs Abbey, and cycling and walking routes start at the front door. Opposite the estate is a bakery with the café “Kehre 23”. Detailed guides on each topic can be found in the journal.

Steamers and swimming spots
Take the Ammersee steamer from Riederau for the grand tour with a restaurant on board, or across to Herrsching. There are swimming spots in Riederau and Dießen, and the Greifenberg outdoor pool is 11 km away.

Marienmünster and Schacky Park
It takes about five minutes to reach the Marienmünster in Dießen, one of the most important churches of the Pfaffenwinkel, and the high-ropes course with maize maze in Utting. On the southern edge of Dießen lies Schacky Park with its tea house and monopteros.
Day trips
From Andechs to the Zugspitze
Andechs Abbey on the other side of the lake, Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau castles, Linderhof Palace, the Wieskirche, the Zugspitze, the old town of Landsberg am Lech and Munich. For Neuschwanstein and the Zugspitze it pays to buy tickets online in advance.

The Franz Marc Museum in Kochel, the Castle Museum and Münter House in Murnau, the Buchheim Museum in Bernried, Wessobrunn Abbey and the yew forest near Paterzell with more than 2,000 ancient yews.
